A love of beauty and wellbeing has driven Dawn O’Shaughnessy owner of Sunrise beauty in Marlow to a continuous evolution of her business. Now with over 25 years in Marlow she knows what her clients want and is not afraid to try new technologies.

Dawn says “the new Eva Facial device ticks all the boxes for our clients and for us. We have an average of 7 treatments booked in each day and we love the fact we can use existing products”

Dawn began her beauty career training at Champneys’s. After qualifying she first opened a business in Bournemouth with an Aerobics studio and Beauty Clinic in her home. With that success under her belt she moved to Marlow and Sunrise Health and Beauty was born. As is common with most businesses in this field, evolution was the key to success. People change what they are looking for and are always searching for something new.

The two-room clinic opened 25 years ago and soon grew to five rooms. Fifteen years later a move to the current location in west street meant that expansion to 8 rooms was possible.
The clinic employs eight staff and is open seven days a week and opens four nights till late. Despite its size and the hours, it operates at 96% capacity.

The clinic does not offer any injectable treatments and has a natural and gentle approach to wellbeing. It has a relaxed atmosphere and is patient focused. Treatments include Elemis facials and IPL treatments along with a full menu of others.

With an ever-evolving treatment list and happy staff (some staff have been at the clinic for 20 years) Sunrise is an oasis of warmth and relaxation in Marlow.

Adding new equipment

There is always a risk when adding a new revenue stream into a business.
Dawn admits “we were not sure about adding the EVA facial at first, it was totally new to the UK. We did however love the philosophy as it is 100% non-invasive and the fact it allowed us to integrate it into our existing skincare.”

To make sure the treatment was right for both the salon and its clients Sunrise took the device on a 30-Day trial. “Launching with a busy beauty day event helped by the staff at Endospheres. Our clients had mini facials and we had people booking in straight away for more. Seeing the treatment in action in our own place gave us the confidence to take the next steps.

Eva at Sunrise Health and Beauty

Now three months in the Eva facial is one of the most booked treatments on offer. Our staff deliver between five and twelve treatments a day combining it with elemis skincare and HA serum. The clients show how much they love it by booking courses. Sometimes staff say it would be good to have two machines.

From a business perspective

Dawn told us that from a business owners’ point of view she loves the fact there are no consumables and she can use the skin care range she is familiar with. She adds “The device is easy to move between rooms and dealing with the uk team has been great. We have had help with our marketing materials, training, clinical support and there is always someone to talk to if needed.’

The Eva facial is a treatment with three phases achieving plumper lifted skin in an hour. It uses clinically proven technology and is part of the Endospheres Therapy range of treatments using Compressive Microvibration.
