The lymphatic system

With lymphatic drainage being such an important part of our treatment, it is clear to see why at Endospheres we love talking about Lymphatic drainage. It’s easy to forget about the lymphatic system, you can’t see it and its not one of the most talked about system in the body.  But if you are trying to recover or change things within your body it’s massively important. This is why it’s important to get things in order especially if you are planning changes.

1) A healthy lymphatic system is important, but it is the most undervalued out of all the body systems, and the one we don’t really talk about BUT if it stopped working, we would die within 24-48 hours.

2) Lymph nodes are about the size and shape of a pea, and there are hundreds (actually between 400-800) throughout the body. They are FILTERS and take out pathogens and clear out unhelpful debris.

3) The lymphatic system is BIGGER than the vascular system and moves about twice the amount of fluid on a daily basis.

4) It’s unidirectional. The lymph nodes moves in ONE DIRECTION.

5) The lymphatic system DEFENDS your body, it escorts foreign bodies away. The B-lymphocytes are in charge of making antibodies. These antibodies ‘leave with the toxic substance’ and signal other immune cells to come in and attack the cells.

6) The LYMPH NODES communicate with us that something isn’t right. Swelling of the lymph nodes (or ‘glands’) show that the body is fighting an infection.

7) Where you have blood vessels you have lymphatic vessels, they are SEPARATE systems, but connected, running in tandem like underground networks of streams.

8) The lymphatic system has NO PUMP (the circulatory system has the heart) it relies on the bodies mechanical movement, gravity and pressure to help move the fluid around.

9) Lymph starts its life as PLASMA, the watery component that makes up over half our blood volume.

10) The DIGESTIVE SYSTEM has millions of lymphatic vessels (lacteals) that absorb the fats and fatty acids that we ingest and transports them directly to the heart where they enter the circulatory system to use as fuel.

How does Endosphères Therapy help improve lymphatic drainage?

The mechanism of action of Compressive Microvibration helps to boost the lymphatic system and in doing this it repairs itself. This makes it a great treatment for, poor circulation, heavy legs and fluid retention.

Endosphères Therapy produces a vibration and pressure combination that performs what we describe as “vascular gymnastics” on the body. This ‘workout’ promotes the drainage of fluids, whilst re-compacting the skin tissues. As the lymphatic system does not have a pump it relies on the mechanical movement of the body to “squeeze” lymph around the system. Endospheres enhances this movement helping to encourage the drainage of fluids. In addition, there is an improvement of the microcirculation, the reduction of inflammation and pain, and muscle toning.
